NUN Schools Had an enjoyable and instructive winter camp.

NUN Winter Camp lasted from January 23 to 27 and offered various instructive and essential activities. The camp hosted international participants who presented a multicultural experience and model for students curious to learn more about history and sciences.

Primary school students took a step towards a sustainable life by transforming what they collected from nature in the workshop. They recycled the materials they did not use in their homes and turned them into valuable materials. They discovered the history of Istanbul together for a day. They visited the  Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern to learn about their history. In addition, they learned swimming techniques and explored plants, ground cover, and living creatures. They set up tents that introduced them to the practical aspects of survival in nature.

On the other hand, middle school students had an opportunity to observe nature and the soil and discuss the reason for the existence of living creatures, plants, and trees. They grasped what it meant to be a team by researching and competing with each other. They learned together through collaboration. They experienced traditional archery and enjoyed a bicycle tour with an English history narration. During a one-hour free lesson, they swam, played classic games, and did kickbox and pilates. They understood what it was like to unite in basketball and football tournaments. They developed sustainable living skills by setting up tents and lighting a fire in the Riva forest. They increased their English communication skills by interacting with international participants. Overall, every participant not only created cordial friendships but they expressed a desire to meet up again at next year’s summer camps.
